BILGE CLEANER 1L
Read the review
Description
Function and technical context
The bilge is the lowest area of the boat's hull, where a mixture of water, oil, fuel, grease and organic waste inevitably accumulates which, if not treated properly, generates bad odours, corrosion and the risk of marine pollution. This bilge cleaner acts through a specific degreasing and deodorizing formulation for nautical environments, capable of degrading hydrocarbons and dirt adhered to the walls and bottom of the well without damaging bilge pumps, hoses or fiberglass or metal surfaces. Its regular use is part of a responsible preventive maintenance program, as it keeps the bilge system operational and free of obstructions that could compromise the boat's buoyancy in an emergency situation.
When to use and renew this product?
The need to clean the bilge is easily detected when a persistent smell of fuel or oil appears inside the boat, when a visible accumulation of dark sludge or an iridescent film is observed on the water in the well. It is recommended to apply the bilge cleaner at least once a season, ideally during grounding maintenance or in preparation for launching, although in boats with intensive use or with inboard engines it is advisable to carry out an additional treatment mid-season. Keeping the bilge clean not only extends the life of the bilge pump, it avoids penalties for polluting discharges and ensures the system runs smoothly when it's really needed.
