Function and technical context
The Rubex L3-E 15.3×19 left propeller is the propeller responsible for transforming the power of the marine engine into direct thrust. Its port rotation configuration is specifically designed for engines with reverse rotation direction, ensuring correct power transmission and directional stability of the boat. Made of high-strength stainless steel, it works in the propulsion system under conditions of permanent immersion, supporting hydrodynamic pressures and continuous friction against salt or fresh water. Wear or damage to the blades reduces thrust efficiency, directly affecting maximum speed, acceleration and fuel consumption.
When to replace this part?
Marine propellers show wear due to cavitation, surface erosion and microcracking after intensive navigation seasons. Typical symptoms include unusual vibration, noticeable speed reduction despite high engine speeds, or visible cracks in the blades upon inspection out of the water. It is recommended to check the condition of the propeller during each seasonal maintenance and consider its preventive replacement after 2-3 years of intensive use or after any impact with a submerged object, since a damaged propeller increases fuel consumption and can affect the alignment of the shaft.
