Function and technical context

This compact hydraulic cylinder is part of the trim and thrust compensation system of the outboard engine, acting directly on the steering column of the propulsion machine. Its function is to convert the hydraulic pressure generated by the pump into linear movement, allowing the angle of inclination of the engine with respect to the transom to be adjusted. A cylinder in poor condition compromises the ability to maintain optimal trim during navigation, which translates into greater hydrodynamic resistance, high fuel consumption and loss of control over the behavior of the boat in different sea conditions.
