Function and technical context

This seal works on the transmission and propulsion system of the outboard motor, sealing and securing critical components of the powertrain. After seasons of heavy boating, especially in saltwater, it is advisable to inspect this closure for signs of wear, cracks, deformation, or surface corrosion buildup. If you observe water infiltration in areas where there should not be, loss of visible tightness or traces of rust around the seal, it is time to replace it. Preventive replacement during seasonal maintenance prevents costly breakdowns at sea and significantly extends engine life.
