YAMAHA BEARING 93310-62406 REC93310-624U5
Description
Function and technical context
This bearing is a critical component of the transmission and propulsion system of Yamaha engines, responsible for facilitating the smooth rotation of the propeller shaft and distributing the radial loads generated during operation. Installed in the tail area or in the transmission, it allows the engine's power to be transmitted efficiently to the propulsion without excessive friction. Its wear or degradation causes abnormal vibrations, increased resistance to rotation and, in severe cases, water entry or partial blocking of the shaft, compromising the safety and maneuverability of the boat.
When to replace this part?
Propulsion bearings exhibit characteristic symptoms before complete failure: metallic or grinding noises from the tail area, excessive vibration in the tiller, abnormal resistance when turning the shaft by hand, and, in advanced cases, small water leaks around the stern tube. Although there is no fixed replacement interval, it is recommended to inspect and evaluate the condition of the bearing every two years or after 500-800 hours of sailing, especially after sailing in silty waters or under high load conditions. A preventative change prevents running out of propulsion in the middle of the sea and protects adjacent components such as the stern tube and shaft seal.
