PLUG TRIM 48630-92J00
Read the review
Description
Function and technical context
The trim plug is part of the hydraulic trimming and tilting system of the outboard motor, acting as a watertight seal for the ducts or cavities of the trim cylinder. Its function is to maintain the hydraulic pressure necessary for the engine tilt mechanism to operate correctly, avoiding fluid leaks that compromise the system's response. A plug in poor condition can cause loss of hydraulic pressure, preventing the engine from maintaining the desired trim angle, which directly affects the performance of the boat, fuel consumption and navigation safety. This is a small but critical sealing part within the trim and tilt assembly of Suzuki outboard motors.
When to replace this part?
The most common symptoms of a damaged trim plug are the presence of stains or traces of hydraulic fluid in the area of the trim cylinder, the inability of the engine to maintain the tilt position under load, or a progressive lowering of the outboard motor when the engine is off. It is recommended to check the condition of this plug during each seasonal maintenance, especially if signs of humidity or fluid loss are detected in the hydraulic assembly. Replacing it preventively at the slightest sign of a leak avoids major breakdowns in the trim system that can leave the boat inoperative on the high seas.
