Star Brite Teak Cleaner 475 ml (ref. STA81416) is a professional cleaning chemical product specifically formulated to restore teak wood surfaces and other noble woods present on boats, decks, bathtubs, side teaks and nautical furniture. Its acid-free formula works by dissolving embedded dirt, organic stains, blackening caused by humidity and deterioration caused by prolonged exposure to atmospheric agents, without attacking the wood fibers or lifting the grain. Unlike conventional acid-based cleaners, it does not require the subsequent use of neutralizers, which significantly simplifies the maintenance process and reduces the risk of damaging adjacent surfaces such as gelcoat, sealing joints or metals. Its use is conceived as the first step within a complete protocol for the restoration and conservation of nautical wood, being compatible with sealing oils and teak polishes applied in subsequent phases.

When to use this product?

Decking teak that shows grayish or blackened color, rebar rust stains, algae deposits or adhering dirt after winter is the clearest sign that a deep cleaning is necessary before applying any protective treatment. It is recommended to carry out this treatment at the beginning of each nautical season and whenever the wood has been exposed to prolonged periods of rain, intense sun or lack of maintenance, since untreated teak absorbs moisture unevenly and accelerates its structural degradation. Incorporating this cleaner into seasonal preventative maintenance significantly prolongs the useful life of the deck wood and avoids having to resort to aggressive sanding or replacing slats, considerably more expensive operations.
