Function and technical context

This gasket and seal kit constitutes the critical sealing assembly for the cooling and lubrication systems of the outboard motor. The gaskets seal the joints between cylinder blocks, cylinder heads and crankcases, while the seals prevent oil and water leaks at the rotation points of the crankshaft and drive shafts. A failure in any of these elements generates fluid losses, water entry into internal chambers and, consequently, corrosion, overheating and catastrophic failure of the propeller. The preventive replacement of this set guarantees complete watertightness throughout the entire navigation season.

When to replace this part?

Gaskets and seals require replacement whenever work is done on the engine to separate blocks, cylinder head or crankcase, or when coolant or oil leaks are detected around the sealed areas. Although there is no fixed time interval, it is advisable to replace this kit preventively every 5-7 years or in any major repair that involves disassembling internal components, since the elastomeric material hardens and loses elasticity over time and exposure to thermal changes. Replacing it preventively avoids costly repairs resulting from water infiltration into the engine during navigation.
