YAMAHA STATOR 6H1-85510-00 REC6H1-85510-00
Description
Function and technical context
The stator is the fixed component of the outboard motor's electrical generation system, housed inside the crankcase and facing the magnetic rotor. Its function is to convert rotating magnetic energy into direct electrical current through electromagnetic induction, powering the battery and the boat's ignition systems, lights and electrical accessories. This component works integrated into the engine charging system and is essential to maintain electric autonomy during navigation. If the stator degrades or fails, the battery does not charge properly, resulting in loss of ignition power, intermittent engine failures, and ultimately the inability to start the vessel away from port.
When to replace this part?
Symptoms of stator wear include insufficient battery charging during operation, lights dimming under engine load, or the alternator not generating measurable voltage. Although there is no fixed maintenance interval in operating hours, it is recommended to review the status of the charging system annually or when erratic battery behavior is observed. Replacing the stator preventively when load anomalies are detected prevents the boat from being immobilized in the water and reduces the risk of secondary damage to the electrical system.
