The 55 mm Radice Hexagon propeller shaft with zinc (ZN) protection is the structural component that transmits the engine torque from the tailbox to the propeller, being the central element of the propulsion system in motor boats. Its hexagonal section provides precise, play-free mechanical coupling with the Radice Hexagon propeller hub, eliminating rotational play that generates vibration and premature wear in conventional keyway installations. The integrated zinc coating acts as additional cathodic protection on the shaft itself, retarding galvanic corrosion in salt and mixed water environments where submerged metals are especially exposed. A shaft in poor condition can cause severe vibrations in the hull, accelerated wear of the stern tube and tail bearings, and even total loss of propulsion while sailing.
