This pair of 47mm diameter magnesium (MG) rudder anodes is designed to protect the rudder and submerged metal components of vessels using the principle of galvanic cathodic protection. Acting as a sacrificial metal, the anode preferentially corrodes the stainless steel, aluminum or bronze parts of the rudder, preventing them from being attacked by the electrolytic action of water.
