Function and Technical Context

The trim motor is the electro-hydraulic actuator responsible for regulating the angle of the power unit relative to the transom, allowing the thrust angle to be adjusted to optimize performance while underway. It is part of the hydraulic trim and trim system integrated into the outboard motor, working in conjunction with the trim cylinder and the hydraulic power unit. A malfunctioning trim motor makes it impossible to adjust the engine angle, causes loss of control over the trim, and, in severe cases, results in the uncontrolled lowering of the power unit while the boat is underway. This component is compatible with Suzuki outboard motors from the DF40 and DF50X-K10 series, as well as Johnson Evinrude motors from the E40 and E50 series, covering a wide range of model years from 1999 to 2010.

When should this part be replaced?
