Function and technical context

The marine polish with PTEF acts as a finishing and protective agent on the surface of the hull and hull, forming a sliding and repellent layer that minimizes the adhesion of dirt, algae and saline residues. PTEF (polytetrafluoroethylene in emulsion) is the differential active component: its molecules are integrated into the treated surface, reducing friction and creating a long-lasting hydrophobic effect that conventional polishes cannot achieve. Its regular use on fiberglass boats, gel coat and painted surfaces contributes to maintaining the surface tightness of the finish, preventing oxidation, loss of gloss and premature degradation of the laminate due to prolonged exposure to UV rays and salt water.

When to apply this product?

The symptoms that indicate the need to treat the boat with a polish of this type are: loss of shine or dull appearance of the gel coat, appearance of micro-scratches, rough feel on the hull after the season, and difficulty in removing dirt with a simple rinse. It is recommended to apply at least once a season, ideally in the spring tune-up before launching and after antifouling cleaning in the autumn stranding. A preventive and periodic application preserves the value of the boat and significantly reduces cleaning time during navigation use.
