Function and technical context

This maintenance kit brings together in a single set all the wear and consumption components necessary to carry out a complete overhaul of the high-power Suzuki outboard engines of the DF250/DF300 series. It integrates elements of four critical engine systems: the cooling system (water pump kit), the lubrication system (oil filter), the ignition system (spark plug), the fuel system (fuel filter) and the protection and sealing elements (anodes, gaskets, O-ring and locking pin). Having all these components renewed simultaneously guarantees that the engine works within its optimal operating parameters and drastically reduces the risk of chain failures caused by the progressive deterioration of interdependent parts. Performing the inspection with a complete kit also ensures that all elements have the same useful life, making it easier to monitor maintenance in subsequent seasons.

When to replace this kit?

On heavy duty outboard engines such as the Suzuki DF250A, DF250S, DF300 and DF300A, it is recommended that full maintenance be performed every 100 hours of boating or at least once a year, whichever comes first. Symptoms that indicate that maintenance cannot be delayed any longer include: overheating or temperature alarm (deteriorated water pump impeller), high oil consumption or darkened oil before the expected interval (saturated oil filter), difficult starts or loss of cruising performance (worn spark plug), loss of power with irregular acceleration (clogged fuel filter) and visible corrosion on metal surfaces of the foot (depleted anodes). Preventively replacing all these elements at the same time, instead of waiting for each part to fail individually, avoids unexpected shutdowns at sea and significantly prolongs engine life.
