This 30 x 55 x 8 mm seal works in the transmission and sealing system of the outboard motor, acting as a dynamic seal to prevent the entry of salt or fresh water into the internal components of the crankshaft or drive shaft. Its function is to retain the lubricating fluids within the motor assembly while preventing the infiltration of external agents that could cause corrosion, accelerated wear of bearings and irreversible damage to the internal mechanisms. A seal in poor condition directly compromises the internal lubrication of the engine, and can lead to seizures, oil leaks into the water and high-cost breakdowns in the drive unit.
