Although there is no specific fixed maintenance interval for this component, it is advisable to inspect the condition of the connecting rod and its pins during each seasonal inspection, especially in engines with more than 500 hours of operation or after intensive operations. Preventive replacement of the pin before symptoms appear prevents cascading damage to the connecting rod, crankshaft and engine block, the cost of which is significantly higher to repair.
