The fuel pump is the component responsible for extracting fuel from the tank and supplying it at constant pressure to the engine's direct injection (DFI) system. It works integrated into the fuel supply circuit, guaranteeing a stable and sufficient flow even under maximum power demand. If this part fails or degrades, the engine experiences progressive loss of power, unstable idling or unexpected stops while navigating, compromising both the safety and performance of the boat.

The characteristic symptoms of a faulty fuel pump include difficulty starting the engine, loss of fuel pressure detected on the gauge, abnormal sounds coming from the tank, and intermittent acceleration failures. It is recommended to check its operation during each seasonal maintenance and consider its preventive replacement after 10-15 years of use or if anomalies are detected in the power system.
