Function and technical context
Neoprene Marine Glue is a high-performance contact adhesive specifically formulated for bonding flexible and rigid materials in environments of high humidity, constant vibration, and salt water exposure. It is used in the repair and assembly of joints, upholstery, bulkhead sealing, fixing soundproofing materials and joining rubber, canvas, synthetic leather and plastic surfaces on boats. Its ability to generate a flexible and durable link makes it essential in any naval mechanics workshop or on board as part of preventive maintenance equipment. The formulation resistant to immersion and marine agents guarantees that the bond does not degrade due to the action of saltpeter or environmental humidity, maintaining the structural integrity of the repair over time.
When to replace or replace this product?
It is advisable to check the condition of the boat each sailing season: an expired or partially polymerized neoprene adhesive inside the container loses viscosity and adhesive power, which results in weak joints that can give way under vibration or after immersion. The most common symptoms that the previous repair has failed are the detachment of upholstery or joints, the appearance of leaks in sealed areas and the lifting of soundproofing materials on the hull or engine. It is recommended to replace the consumable when the content presents lumps, threads or an abnormal stringy texture when applying it, and take advantage of the boat's annual maintenance to check all critical joints, preventively replacing those that show signs of weakening before leaving for open water.
