Volvo Penta 3593981 Aluminum Anode for IPS Systems
The Volvo Penta aluminum anode ref. 3593981 (CM3593881A) is a cathodic protection component designed specifically for IPS propulsion systems. Its function is to electrochemically sacrifice itself to protect submerged metal parts from galvanic corrosion, prolonging the life of the transmission and adjacent components in saline and fresh water environments.
This anode is installed in the IPS drive tails and ensures uniform protection in all applications, from compact to larger displacement units.
