Volvo Tail Anode 50-100 — Cathodic Protection for Marine Propulsion
The Volvo 50-100 tail anode (reference CMV-15) is an essential cathodic protection component in Volvo Penta marine propulsion systems. Its main function is to act as a sacrificial element to prevent galvanic corrosion in the engine tail area, prolonging the useful life of critical components submerged in saline and freshwater environments. This anode is installed in strategic positions of the propellant cooling and protection system, maintaining the structural integrity of the equipment during continuous navigation.
Designed for medium displacement marine engine applications, it guarantees reliable performance under conditions of prolonged immersion and salinity variations, especially protecting the rear area of the propellant where the greatest risks of metallic degradation are concentrated.
