ANTIFOULING HARD MATRIX TRITON BLACK 2.5L
Description
Function and technical context
Triton hard matrix antifouling in black is a high-performance protective coating formulated specifically for the hulls of boats that operate in waters with a high presence of fouling organisms, such as algae, barnacles, mussels and other marine biofouling. It acts through the controlled release of biocides through a hardened matrix that does not erode with water, which differentiates it from antifoulings with a soft or self-polishing matrix. This type of paint is especially indicated for low or medium speed vessels, such as sailboats and motor boats that remain at anchor or in port for long periods, where the accumulation of marine organisms can seriously compromise the hydrodynamic performance of the hull and increase fuel consumption. Reference 108126 presents a formulation in 2.5 liter format, suitable for maintenance treatments or partial applications in medium lengths.
When to replace or reapply this product?
The need to reapply the hard matrix antifouling is detected visually during the beaching inspection: if the hull presents colonies of adhered organisms, loss of uniform color, peeling of previous layers or areas where the substrate is exposed, it is an indication that the biocide protection has been exhausted. Unlike erodible systems, the hard matrix does not self-renew, so its useful life depends directly on the number of layers applied and the conditions of the anchoring area; As a general rule, it is advisable to inspect it at each annual beaching and reapply at least one layer before the seasonal launch. Applying the antifouling appropriately in advance and under the temperature conditions recommended by the manufacturer guarantees optimal adhesion and maximizes the duration of the protection, avoiding costly hull cleanings in the middle of the nautical season.
Compatibility table
