This fuel pump gasket is a critical component of the fuel circuit that ensures sealing between the pump and the fuel distribution pipes. Its function is to hermetically seal the contact surfaces to prevent fuel leaks and air entry into the circuit, maintaining the correct system pressure. Any deterioration or breakage of the gasket compromises the delivery pressure and the quality of the fuel that reaches the engine, which results in difficult starts, loss of power and irregular emissions.
When to replace this part?
Symptoms of an aging pump seal include visible fuel leaks around the coupling, a pronounced petrol smell in the engine, irregular operation or misfires after prolonged rest. It is recommended to check the condition of this gasket during each seasonal maintenance and replace it preventively every 2 to 3 boating seasons, or immediately if you detect moisture or fuel residue in the area.
