Function and technical context

It works both in seawater cooling systems and in closed circuits, where the uninterrupted circulation of the fluid is the only barrier between the correct operation of the engine and severe overheating of the block. The clearest signs that the water sensor requires revision or replacement are: activation of the temperature alarm without an obvious cause in the engine block, erratic, intermittent or completely absent reading on the coolant flow indicator, and the appearance of humidity, saline efflorescence or microdrops in the fitting area that show loss of tightness in the connection. It is advisable to inspect this component during each seasonal maintenance, verifying the physical integrity of the sensor body, the tightness and condition of the fitting and the absence of limescale or saline deposits that could obstruct or alter its response.
