The head gasket acts as a sealing element between the engine block and the cylinder head, sealing the cooling ducts, oil channels and combustion chambers to guarantee the correct compression pressure in each cylinder. It works in the engine's upper closing system, simultaneously subjected to the pressures generated during combustion and the thermal cycles of the cooling circuit. A failure in this component can lead to loss of compression, mixing of coolant with lubricating oil, overheating of the propellant or entry of combustion gases into the water circuit, situations that can cause severe and irreversible damage to the engine head.
