This 90º male/female elbow in AISI 316 stainless steel is used in naval plumbing installations to reroute right-angle pipes within seawater cooling systems, bilge circuits, wet exhaust pipes or on-board drinking water pipes. Its 90º geometry allows changing the direction of the fluid in small machine room spaces without the need to bend the pipe, maintaining the tightness and integrity of the circuit. Being made of AISI 316 stainless steel—an alloy with greater resistance to chloride corrosion than AISI 304—it is especially suitable for marine environments with direct exposure to salt water. A deteriorated or cracked connection at this point can cause internal or external leaks that compromise the flow of the circuit, generate unwanted water entry into the bilge or lead to engine overheating if the section is part of the cooling system.
