Function and technical context

Velox Plus antifouling in 250 cc format acts as a biocidal coating for localized application on submerged metal and fiberglass surfaces, especially on propeller shafts, horns, propellers and hard-to-access areas of the hull. Its formulation is designed to inhibit the adhesion of encrusting marine organisms - algae, mussels, barnacles and other biofouling - which, if established, cause a significant increase in drag, greater fuel consumption and accelerated deterioration of the protected surfaces. Unlike large-format antifoulings applied with a roller, this 250 cc container is especially practical for precision touch-ups, maintenance between seasons and protection of metal parts where the adhesion of biofouling is especially aggressive. When to replace or reapply this product?

The most obvious sign that the antifouling layer has exhausted its effectiveness is the appearance of visible biological fouling on the hull, shaft or propeller after a period of normal navigation, as well as a perceptible loss of top speed and an increase in consumption under normal conditions of use. For boats that remain in the water all season, it is recommended to check the condition of the coating at each annual docking and reapply before the spring launch; In areas of high biological activity or warm waters, a second application may be necessary mid-season.
