The TEN01155AL aluminum sacrificial anode is an essential cathodic protection component in Yamaha outboard motors. This anode acts as a preventive barrier against galvanic corrosion, selectively absorbing the electrochemical processes that degrade ferrous and non-ferrous metals exposed to the saline environment or fresh water. Installed in strategic areas of the engine casing, the anode progressively dissolves rather than allowing corrosion to affect critical structural components such as cylinder blocks, cylinder heads or cooling systems. Without this element, salinity and electrolytic reactions would accelerate the internal deterioration of the engine, compromising sealing, performance and navigation safety.
