Description

Function and technical context

The Rubex 3-E 15×15 aluminum propeller is the propulsion element responsible for converting the power of the marine engine into directional thrust of the hull. With three blades and a 15-inch pitch, it works within the marine transmission system, coupled directly to the tailshaft through the attachment hub. Its right-hand rotation—clockwise rotation as seen from the stern—guarantees mechanical compatibility and predictable rudder behavior in all maneuvers. The high-purity marine aluminum construction provides structural resistance against cyclic fatigue and saltwater corrosion, critical factors that determine the useful life of the propulsion in recreational navigation and professional use.

When to replace this part?

Marine propellers suffer wear from cavitation erosion, impacts with submerged objects, and localized corrosion on the tips and leading edges. Typical symptoms include abnormal vibrations in navigation, notable reduction in maximum speed at power regime, or visible pitting and cracks in the blades after dry inspection. It is recommended to check the condition of the propeller at least every sailing season and replace it preventively if it presents structural damage, since a worn propeller not only reduces engine efficiency but also increases fuel consumption and can compromise the stability of the boat in adverse conditions.
