Function and technical context

This kit includes 3 4 mm pins (reference PIN4) intended for fixing and aligning components on Suzuki outboard engines. The positioning pins work in the engine's mechanical assembly system, ensuring correct alignment between covers, casings and blocks, avoiding displacements that could compromise the tightness or fit of the gaskets. A damaged, deformed or missing pin can cause leaks, abnormal vibrations or incorrect assembly that results in further damage to the motor.

When to replace this part?

Positioning pins are usually required when difficulty is observed in correctly aligning the covers or casings during disassembly and reassembly of the engine, or when it is noted that the pin is corroded, deformed or has been lost. It is advisable to check their condition at each major maintenance intervention or each time the block or cover where they are housed is dismantled. Replacing them preventively when carrying out any deep engine inspection avoids sealing problems and guarantees correct assembly from the first moment.
