What this part is

The Mase 32690 relay board — scheda relè in the manufacturer’s own nomenclature — is the printed circuit board that runs the generating set’s control circuit: it handles the starting sequence, energises the fuel solenoid and drives the protections that shut the engine down on a fault. It sits in its own box inside the soundproof enclosure, next to the battery charger regulator, the capacitor and the 20 A control-circuit fuse.

When to replace it

This is the part to check when the set does not respond to the start command despite a healthy battery, when it starts but stops as soon as the button is released, when the starter motor stays engaged, or when the protections trip for no apparent reason. Salt moisture and vibration are its two usual enemies: check the condition of the box and the cable glands too before writing the board off.

Compatibility

It is documented in the official Mase IS 2.5 parts list, where it appears as item 6 of the electrical group, and it is also sold as a spare for the IS 5.0. In the combined manual for the IS 3.5, 4.0, 5.0 and 6.0, Mase publishes a single wiring diagram for all four models in which the relay board appears with no model or frequency qualifier, which suggests it is common to the whole single-cylinder IS range. That manual carries no part numbers, so this is not a manufacturer confirmation: check the number printed on the board fitted to your set before ordering, or send us the model and serial number and we will verify it.
