EPOXY - RESIN 275GR
Description
Function and technical context
Subwaterline Subsea Epoxy Resin is a two-component adhesive and sealant compound specifically designed to repair, fill and rebuild hull surfaces in the submerged zone of the vessel. It acts as a physical-chemical barrier against water penetration, osmosis and progressive corrosion of the substrate, both in fiberglass hulls and on metal surfaces. Its formulation is designed to resist continuous immersion in salt and fresh water, as well as the pressure and temperature cycles typical of navigation. Correct application guarantees the structural and watertight integrity of the repaired areas, preventing leaks from compromising the safety of the boat and resulting in larger structural damage.
When to use or renew this resin?
The need to apply underwater epoxy resin is detected by the appearance of blisters or bubbles on the hull (classic symptom of osmosis), visible cracks or delaminations in the hull, or leak points identified during the beaching of the boat. It is recommended that the area below the waterline be thoroughly inspected at each seasonal grounding, as osmotic damage often progresses silently between inspections. Addressing the repair preventively as soon as the first signs appear avoids having to undertake complete anti-osmosis treatments, which are significantly more expensive and lengthy in dry dock time.
