Function and technical context

Star Brite Special Teak Oil (ref. STA85132) is a nautical maintenance product specifically formulated to nourish, protect and enhance teak wood on boats exposed to adverse marine conditions. Its advanced formula combines high resistance polymers with Tung oil, achieving deep penetration into the wood grain that reinforces the fiber structure and forms a durable protective barrier against moisture, salt and abrasion. The ultraviolet absorbers integrated into the formulation block the degradation caused by solar radiation, which is the main cause of whitening and premature cracking of teak on the deck. Unlike conventional oils, this product offers up to four times greater durability, significantly reducing the frequency of treatments and roof maintenance costs.

When to apply this product?

The clearest sign that teak needs treatment is the loss of the characteristic golden tone: the wood appears grayish, dull or with whitish spots caused by exposure to the sun and salt water. It is recommended to reapply the oil at the first visible sign of wear or dryness, and at least once a season in boats with regular use, or twice a year in areas of high solar irradiation or tropical climates. Before applying the oil on very damaged or dirty wood, it is essential to clean and restore the surface with a specific teak cleaner and polish; Applying the oil to dirty wood or wood with residue blocks penetration and drastically reduces the durability of the treatment.
